Where To Snowshoe In Lake Tahoe With Your Dog 2023

We’re always trying to come up with new ways to get our pup, June, some wintertime exercise, and snowshoeing is just about the best activity we’ve found. There are many great places to go snowshoeing with your dog in the Reno-Tahoe area. Here are a few of our favorite options for snowshoeing in Lake Tahoe, California and Nevada:

1. Tahoe Meadows, New Washoe City, Nevada

This area, located just south of Lake Tahoe, offers a variety of trails for snowshoers of all skill levels. The terrain is relatively flat, making it a good option for beginners, and the views of the lake and surrounding mountains are stunning.

2. Desolation Wilderness, El Dorado County, California

Located just west of Lake Tahoe, this wilderness area offers more challenging trails for experienced snowshoers. The scenery is breathtaking, with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

3. Spooner Lake, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park

This popular spot is located near Carson City, Nevada, and offers a variety of trails for all skill levels. The lake itself is a great place to go snowshoeing, and there are also several nearby trails that wind through the forest.

4. Donner Summit, California

Located on the western side of Lake Tahoe, Donner Summit offers a variety of trails that are suitable for snowshoeing. The area is known for its beautiful vistas, and there are several trails that offer panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

5. Meiss Meadow, South Lake Tahoe
